THUNDER BAY SPRINTS: not being held in 2025 *PASSPORT NEEDED

Thunder Bay Regatta

This regatta is open to Masters and Juniors 

DEPARTURE Day: Friday June  28

RACE DAY: Saturday June 29

TRAVEL DAY home: Sunday June 30 (most families stay overnight and travel home Sunday) 

Venue: Regatta hosted by Thunder Bay Rowing Club

755 Dock Street just upstream of the Kaministiquia River  Heritage Park


HOTEL INFO:

Room block is held  for Thursday -Sunday--but we really only need Friday and Saturday nights of this block, please "EDIT" your dates, after you click on the link.

Regatta Schedule:

Details for TB regatta:

  • Thursday June 27: Trailer Loading:  8am for regatta participants at Birch's
  • 3pm Friday Jne 28 : Arrival at Thunder Bay Rowing Club:  Plan for rigging and short practice.
  • Thunder Bay is EASTERN time. 
  • Regatta: all day Saturday June 29. More details to follow. Plan for an early arrival to venue. 
  • Sunday- most families stay Saturday evening, and travel home Sunday
  • Trailer UNLOAD: Monday morning July 1 


  • Club Colors: all competitors shall wear their club colors on the water . If you don't have a team uni, you can wear black shorts and a white tank top.

Venue: The Thunder Bay Rowing Club is located at 755 Dock Street just upstream of the Kaministiquia River  Heritage Park
 Parking: Vehicles other than boat trailers are to park in the Kaministiquia River Heritage Park.
 Spectating: There is a fine view of the course from the Kaministiquia River Heritage Park boardwalk.
 Food, etc.: A water-bottle refill station is located outside the clubhouse. There will also be a variety of food trucks at the Kaministiquia River Heritage Park adjacent to the regatta site.
 Awards/Banquet: There is an awards ceremony and banquet at the Clubhouse for competitors, coaches and support persons..
