General info

This is a fun early season regatta, held locally--new venue in 2026 -- on the Mississippi river 

It is open to both Juniors and Masters, U30 and collegiate.  If you are new to rowing, and just started this spring, please talk with our coaching staff about your readiness to compete.  We want everyone to have a great experience the first time they compete

THERE IS NO PARKING or DRIVING ON THE LAWN - The grassy area of the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board East River Flats Park north of the UMN Boathouse. This will be enforced throughout the regatta. Arrange for teams to be present to move team tents from parking lot or drop off area. Park personal vehicles in the one of several pay lots in the area. Street parking is available above the River Flats Park (look for stairs to come back down). All meters are enforced so pay attention.

All rowers are expected to assist in regatta prep/trailer load, rigging on site, and return trailer unloading.



Friday 6am: Masters derig boats 

7:30 am : Juniors Load trailer 


Saturday 6am all rower arrive at   Mississippi River- U of MN boathouase 

Minneapolis, MN  to rig boats and prep equipment


Saturday after last race: load trailer


Sunday: 8am unload trailer & rig boats at Birch's.

The race course is approximately 1000 meters long and racers will be rowing upstream from the south side of the Railroad bridge to just before the Franklin Avenue bridge. The race course will be on the eastern half of the Mississippi River. There will be no buoy lines and racers need to stay in between the line of yellow buoys

Local Twin Cities rowing clubs submitting more than 20 entries in the regatta must provide experienced launch drivers to fill one launch slot in the morning and another in the afternoon shift. Please email full name of the launch driver(s) and their mobile number to volunteer@minneapolisrowing.org.

General details:

  • The blue LLRC team tent will be set up near the main parking lot.  Rowers should find it when they arrive and drop their gear there then assist w trailer unload and rigging.  
  • Food/Water will be provided for rowers. If you have any special dietary needs, please bring your own food and snacks.  
  •  Bring a reusable water bottle (filled) , we will have large jugs so you can refill your water bottle. 
  • There are a limited number of chairs for rowers, so feel free to bring your own.  The tent is where rowers can relax and recharge between races. 
  • ALL rowers are expected to help move boats and oars for their teammates throughout the day, as well as cheer teammates on in their races. Be aware of when your races are (coaches will have the schedule that morning) so that you can prepare, fuel and help your teammates and coaches. . 
  •  Parents:   bring your own chair, a pair of binoculars and dress for various weather conditions! Bring your LLRC Cowbells!

Signup on your BHC account. 

Once the deadline passes, we can not accept any late entries to the regatta.  Payment will be posted to your account on the deadeline date. Once the deadline date arrives, we are not able to offer refunds if you can not attend the regatta, for any reason,

Coaches will provide lineups closer to regatta date.
