Our Juniors program draws athletes from several area high schools; Orono, Wayzata, Minnetonka, Mound Westonka, Blake, Breck & Benilde. Our team has had significant successes over the past 6 years, sending several boats to US Rowing Youth Nationals, winning the NWIRA Juniors Points Award. Many of our LLRC graduates have gone on to row at the collegiate level, because of the start they had with LLRC. Our alum have gone on to row at U Wisconsin, Syracuse, U Washington, Williams, Dartmouth, and Boston University, U of Kansas, UCLA, Marist, U of St Thomas, Bryant, George Washington, Drake, Tufts, Kansas State, Creighton, and University of Portland!
We offer indoor training in the winter months for rowers to focus on conditioning and prepare themselves to be in top shape for hitting the water when the ice melts! Our juniors train indoors at the former Orono Public Works Facility (2700 Kelley Parkway, Orono) . under the expert guidance of Coach Aidan Hennessey. Training focuses on cardio conditioning on rowing ergometers, along with strength and core work.
We offer training in one month sessions to accommodate rowers returning from winter sports! Sign up for all Jan-Feb-March for optimal benefits!
Once the ice is off of Long Lake, and the water/ air temps meet our safety standards, we launch into on the water training! On the water training is held from the south shore of Long Lake, at Birch's on the Lake Brewhouse & Supper Club 1310 Wayzata Blvd.

Indoor training is the former Orono City Public Works Facility
